Pricing questions, straight answers.
Does the price go up at renewal?
No. The price you join at is the price you keep, every year, for as long as you renew. No introductory discounts that double later.
What’s in the free version?
All four layouts (table, grid, gallery, folders), instant search, multi-select filters with counts, multi-column sorting, infinite scroll, the Gutenberg block and shortcode, download tracking, and unlimited documents. No artificial limits.
Can I search inside my documents?
Yes. Pro adds full-text search that reads the text inside your PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OpenDocument files, so people find a document by its contents, not just its title — and extraction runs on your own server. Scanned or image-only PDFs can be sent to our optional OCR service to be made searchable too; that’s off by default, and files are processed and immediately discarded, never stored.
What happens if I don’t renew?
FileDeck is GPL software: the plugin keeps working exactly as it is. Renewal covers updates and support — nothing on your site breaks or gets locked if you let it lapse.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. Every paid plan is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee — Pro and AI alike, at every site count. Email support@getfiledeck.com within 30 days of purchase, from the address you used at checkout. You do not have to give a reason.
Does it auto-renew? Can I cancel?
Licences renew automatically, so your updates and support do not lapse by accident. You can cancel auto-renewal yourself at any time in the Freemius customer portal, linked from your purchase email — you do not need to email us. Cancelling cuts nothing short: the licence stays fully active until the end of the term you have already paid for, and updates and priority support stop only at expiry.
What counts as a site? Do staging sites count?
One licence activation is one production website. Local, development and staging copies of that site don’t use up an activation.
Can I move a licence to a different site?
Yes — deactivate the licence on the old site and activate it on the new one, any time, yourself.
Is VAT included?
Prices are shown before tax; VAT or sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your billing country.
Can I upgrade to a bigger plan later?
Yes — upgrades are pro-rated, so you only pay the difference for the remainder of your licence year.
The AI tier uses my own API key — what does that cost?
You bring your own provider key: OpenAI or Voyage for indexing, and Anthropic, OpenAI or Fireworks AI for answers. You pay that provider directly at their published rates — FileDeck adds no markup and resells no AI. Indexing charges once per document, and again when you edit that document; each question charges for that question. FileDeck defaults to the compact, low-cost models, your vectors are stored in your own site’s database, and AI features stay off until you switch them on — so the cost starts when you decide it does.
What support do I get?
One inbox: support@getfiledeck.com, or the form on the support page — both reach the people who build FileDeck, and support is in English. Pro and AI customers are answered first; free users are welcome there too, and can also use the public wordpress.org forum. We do not publish a response-time promise, because we would rather not quote a number we could not hold on a bad week. Installing and configuring FileDeck, licence activation and moving a licence between sites, migrating a library in from another plugin, bug reports and pre-sales questions are covered on every tier, free included; writing custom code for your site is not.
