Do I need to export anything first?

Will my download counts be preserved?
Yes — and properly. FileDeck takes your logged downloads plus your count offset, so if you adjusted a number by hand it comes across as the number you actually display, not the raw log.
What happens to the files themselves?
Each download’s file URL is kept as a Media Library attachment where possible, and linked by URL where not — so files hosted elsewhere still work.
What about downloads restricted to logged-in users?
They import as documents restricted to logged-in users. If you need finer control, add a category password or a role restriction afterwards.
