Library Builder

Design your document library before you install anything.

Choose a layout, the columns, filters, download buttons and colours, and watch a real FileDeck library change as you go. When it looks right, copy the shortcode, or open the design in your own WordPress site and keep editing it there.

This is the builder that comes with the free plugin, running on sample documents.

Put it on your site

  1. Install FileDeck

The free plugin from wordpress.org. Add your documents, or load its sample library to try things out.

    Get FileDeck free

  2. Paste the shortcode

Copy it from under the preview into any page, post, widget area or page-builder shortcode element. It works as soon as it is published.

  3. Or keep editing on your site

Open this design in your own site’s library builder, with your documents and categories, then create the page from there.

Needs FileDeck installed and up to date. Your address goes straight to your own site, not to us.

Questions

Is the library builder free?

Yes. It is part of the free FileDeck plugin on wordpress.org: after installing, it is under Documents → Library builder, with a preview of your own documents in your own theme. Options marked Pro need a Pro licence on your site.

Why are there no category settings here?

Categories belong to your site, not this one. Design the look here, then pick which categories a library shows in the builder on your own site; it lists the categories you already have.

What happens to settings my site cannot use?

When you open a design in your own site’s builder, it lists anything that did not come across — for example an option that needs Pro — instead of dropping it silently.

Do I need to sign up?

No. The design lives in this page’s address rather than in an account, so you can bookmark it or send it to someone.
