Switch to FileDeck

Moving from another plugin

Move your library to FileDeck, with help from the people who build it.

Choose the guide for your current plugin and see exactly which documents, metadata and settings FileDeck imports. Pro includes source-specific importers for eleven plugins, with CSV options for other sources. Free assisted migration helps you check the result before replacing your live library.

Want to evaluate the display first? Install the free version alongside your current plugin. Source-specific import requires FileDeck Pro.

What you get when you switch

Help from the people who build it

Tell us how your current library is set up — private files, custom fields, external links and existing URLs — and we’ll help you plan the import, check the result and recreate what does not map directly. It runs on your own site, and you can import as drafts to review before anything is published.

Time left on your current plan

Our migration offer can add the remaining time on your current eligible paid plan to your FileDeck licence. Contact us to confirm how it applies to your plan. No discount gimmicks.

30 days to decide

Paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and you can review the imported library as drafts before you replace your live page.

Choose your current plugin

FileDeck Pro reads these plugins’ data on your own site, so there is no export file to prepare. What transfers differs by source, and each guide lists it. You can import as drafts and review before anything is published.

Using another plugin? If it can export a CSV, FileDeck’s CSV import maps titles, descriptions, categories, tags and file or link URLs. Access rules and other settings are recreated by hand, and we can help with both.

How the move works

Choose, check, then publish.

1

Choose your source

Review the matching guide and identify private files, custom fields and existing links.

2

Import and check

Use drafts where supported or a private staging copy. Confirm files, categories, counts and the intended access rules.

3

Publish your FileDeck library

Replace the page block or shortcode after the checks. Retire old routes only when their links and access requirements are accounted for.

What we bring across

It depends on what your current plugin records. Each guide lists the exact mapping; this is the general shape.

Documents & files

Titles, descriptions and dates, with each file linked where it sits or copied into your Media Library, depending on the source. The guide for your plugin says which.

Categories & tags

Categories with their nesting, and tags where the source has them. Folder-based sources turn folders into categories.

External links

Documents that live on Drive, Dropbox or SharePoint come across as links to the same place.

Access, to review

Where a source records a restriction, most importers turn it into logged-in-only access, which is a wider audience; WP Customer Area’s individual owners become client areas. Recreate the exact rules — by role, password or named people — before publishing.

Custom fields

Extra columns like department, owner or reference can be imported with FileDeck’s own CSV format; we can help you prepare it.

No gimmicks — just a fair deal

We don’t run introductory discounts that jump at renewal: renewals cost the same as your first year, and paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Assisted migration is free because we’d rather earn your library than discount our way to it.

Questions about moving

Which plugins can you move from?

FileDeck Pro has source-specific importers for the eleven plugins listed above. For other plugins, a CSV export can be mapped to titles, descriptions, categories, tags and file or link URLs with the Migrate importer. Exports vary, so if yours is unusual, send it over and we’ll help you work out what maps.

What does the migration cost?

Assisted migration is free. The source-specific importers are part of FileDeck Pro. Our migration offer can add the remaining time on your current eligible paid plan to your FileDeck licence; contact us to confirm how it applies to your plan.

How big a library can you move?

The source-specific importers run in the background in batches, so a large library does not have to finish in one page load. A CSV file can hold up to 5,000 rows per import. For very large or unusual libraries, tell us roughly how many documents you have and we’ll scope the move with you first.

Do you need access to my WordPress?

No. The move runs on your own site; we guide and support you, and you stay in control throughout. If you’d rather we did the hands-on work inside your site, we can do that on a staging copy or with temporary access you arrange — just ask.

Can I just do it myself?

Yes. In FileDeck Pro, go to Documents → Import & Export → Migrate: the one-click importers for supported plugins are at the top, and the CSV importer is below them — here’s how. Help, and the migration offer, are there if you want them.

What if it doesn’t work out?

Paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The importers read your current plugin’s data rather than rewriting it, so you can review the FileDeck version before replacing your live page. A document imported as restricted gets its own copy of its file in FileDeck’s protected vault, so the old plugin keeps working while you check. Access you add in FileDeck after the import is different: it moves that document’s file into the vault, so the old plugin’s link to it stops working from then on.
