Export documents to CSV Pro

FileDeck Pro exports your document library to a CSV file from Documents → Bulk add / export, in section 3. Export your library to CSV — one row per document with its title, file, categories, tags, size, type, and download count. Use it as a backup, as the first half of a bulk-edit round trip, or to move documents to another site.

How to export

1. Go to Documents → Bulk add / export.
2. Scroll to 3. Export your library to CSV.
3. Click Export all documents as CSV. A CSV file downloads to your computer.

What the export contains

Each row is one document with seven columns: title, file, categories, tags, size, type, and downloads. The title, file, category, and tag columns re-import into FileDeck as-is via the CSV importer; size, type, and downloads are informational. The CSV contains document data, not the files themselves — uploaded files stay in your Media Library, and external links stay on their hosts.

Three ways to use it

Backup

Export on a schedule that suits you and keep the CSV with your site backups. If document data is ever lost or mangled, a re-import restores it.

Bulk edit and re-import

Export, open the CSV in a spreadsheet, and change whatever needs changing — retitle documents, recategorize in bulk, rewrite tags. Then import the edited file from the same Bulk add / export screen; the title, file, category, and tag columns round-trip as-is.

Moving between sites

Export from the old site and import on the new one (FileDeck Pro is needed on both). The file column references files by URL, so make sure the files themselves are reachable from the new site — still available at their URLs, or uploaded to the new site’s Media Library before you import.

FAQ

Does the export include the actual files?

No. It contains document data and file references; the files stay in the Media Library or on their external hosts.

Can I edit the export and import it back?

Yes. The title, file, category, and tag columns re-import as-is — that round trip is the intended workflow for backups and spreadsheet bulk edits.

Can I use an export as an import template?

Yes. Together with the sample CSV on the import screen, it is the quickest way to see exactly which columns the importer expects.
