Upgrading from FileDeck Free to Pro takes a few minutes and preserves everything: your documents, categories, tags, settings, and download counts all carry over because Free and Pro use the same data. You buy a license, install the Pro build, and activate your key — no re-configuration needed.

Step 1: buy a Pro license

1. Go to getfiledeck.com/pricing.
2. Pick a plan: $59/yr for 1 site, $99/yr for 5 sites, or the Agency plan at $179/yr for 50 sites. All plans include every Pro feature — see Free vs Pro for the full list.
3. Complete checkout. Payment and licensing are handled by Freemius, and every purchase is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee.

You will receive an email with your license key and a download link for the Pro zip.

Step 2: install the Pro build

1. Download the Pro zip from your purchase email (or from the Freemius customer portal linked in it).
2. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, and click Install Now.
3. Activate FileDeck Pro. It replaces the free version — you can deactivate and delete the free plugin afterward.

Your library keeps working throughout. Documents, categories, settings, layouts, and the library page are all preserved because both versions read the same data.

Step 3: activate your license key

1. Open the FileDeck license screen in wp-admin.
2. Paste the license key from your purchase email and activate it.

Upgrading between Pro tiers
