Send captured leads to your mailing list (Mailchimp / Brevo) Pro

Add every download lead to a Mailchimp audience or Brevo list automatically — double opt-in by default, and existing contacts are never re-subscribed.

Lead capture asks for a name and email before a download and stores the lead in WordPress. If those contacts belong on your mailing list, FileDeck Pro can push each one to Mailchimp or Brevo directly — no middleware subscription needed.

FileDeck ProDocuments → Settings → Features → Mailing list, next to the lead-capture options.

Setting it up

  1. Turn on Require name & email before download (lead capture) — the mailing-list push only ever sends what lead capture collects.
  2. Choose Mailchimp or Brevo as the provider.
  3. Paste your API key and the list to add contacts to:
    • Mailchimp: an API key from Account → Extras → API keys (it ends in a datacenter, like -us14), and the Audience ID from Audience → Settings.
    • Brevo: an API key from SMTP & API → API keys, and the numeric list ID from Contacts → Lists.
  4. Save, then click Send a test contact — it sends your site admin email to the list and reports the provider’s actual response, so a wrong key or list ID shows up now rather than silently later.

How contacts are handled

  • Double opt-in is the default (Mailchimp): new contacts are added as pending and confirm by email before joining the list. Untick it only if you’re confident the lead form itself constitutes list consent in your jurisdiction. Brevo list hygiene (opt-in flows) is configured on the Brevo side.
  • An existing contact is never re-subscribed or modified beyond list membership — someone who unsubscribed stays unsubscribed, whatever they download.
  • The push never delays the visitor’s download: it fires in the background after the lead is stored.
  • The API key is stored in a non-autoloaded secrets option and never shown back in the settings form.

Using another email provider

For any other destination — ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign, a CRM — use the lead webhook on the same settings screen: every captured lead is POSTed as JSON to a URL you choose, which Zapier or Make can relay to virtually any service.
